Most of you know the story of my daughter, Taylor. This morning, I am reminded of the counsel from the greatest influence of my adult life, Pastor Don Wilhite. Among many challenges during the strenuous time of assimilating Taylor into our "proper southern family", Brother Don assured me of two things:
1. All families have baggage and some form of "disfunctionality."
2. One day, Taylor will desire to be a part of our family.
Taylor is not just a survivor of Leukemia and more recently, breast cancer, but a women who has a passion to fight for the survival of others. Her career as a Child Life Specialist in one of the nation's leading children's hospitals has afforded her multiple opportunities to realize that she is a conduit of God's radiant light to abused, neglected, and injured children struggling through a world of darkness. Taylor's recent awareness of "Project Rescue" moved her to become involved preparing for Super Bowl week and the public outcry over child sex trafficking (see www.projectrescue.com .)

I often teach parents and teachers to consider the behavior progression of children (of all ages), as a continuum: Obedience-Respect-Honor. This morning, I received a text from Taylor. I believe parents feel "honored" when we see "children walking in truth" and not simply doing what we ask or what they think we may want. Here is her text:
"GOD knew what he was doing with the snow....recieved news that prostitution for the super bowl is down....PRAISE GOD!"

I just needed to share this with a few people that would understand. Thanks for allowing me to celebrate Taylor, my "Radiant Light" with you!

In Pursuit,

Ed Smith
